From the balcony observatory, the Jupiter season, which was shitty even at its best, is ending. It’s less the horizon’s problem, for Jupiter hides behind a building, but more the altitude’s. The usual gear HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher
From this year’s standard gear, HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher I observed Jupiter and Io on the evening sky. The Jupiter season is mostly over, as is the Saturn season, but one may still capture some nice shots.
The early evening, still blue sky has its own charm, when it lets through the planets. The Jupiter season is kinda over, but it’s still possible to capture good frames. On the second one, the blue sky is subtracted and the gamma is adjusted to compensate for the lost brightness. 20:01 local time, HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher
The blue sky is what it is: my passion. That I start to observ early in the evening to catch something. Anything. So here it is: Jupiter on the still bright sky. HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher
It has become a routine to observe Jupiter and Saturn from my home observatory on the balcony, so nothing new here. ASI 224MC, TSO ADC, N250/1200, HEQ5 home observatory mountpusher
There’s been some nasty nebulosity these days, either thin clouds or outright fog, impossible to tell from within the city. Though the seeing had its good moments, transparency was awful. I’ve been wondering these days about not owning a TV. Well, the transit of Io observed here sure lacks the action of a spacefight but sure has something kubricky about it. Jupiter and Io. I just realized why I don’t have a TV: I can see live interplanetary feeds from my balcony. And while there is less action and it’s considerably slower, Galileo Galilei did stuff like this – just a tad more low tech. ASI 224MC, TSO ADC, N250/1200, HEQ5 guided by the soapbox project.
