Jupiter and Io

From this year’s standard gear,  HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher I observed Jupiter and Io on the evening sky. The Jupiter season is mostly over, as is the Saturn season, but one may still capture some nice shots.

The early evening, still blue sky has its own charm, when it lets through the planets. The Jupiter season is kinda over, but it’s still possible to capture good frames. There’s been some nasty nebulosity these days, either thin clouds or outright fog, impossible to tell from within the city. Though the seeing had its good moments, transparency was awful. I’ve been wondering these days about not owning a TV. Well, the transit of Io observed here sure lacks the action of a spacefight but sure has something kubricky about it.
