Jupiter family portrait 2019-09-02

Using the data acquired on 2019-09-02, I put together this nice animation.

Jupiter, Io 2019-09-01, another take

This is another image I processed from the set acquired a month ago. The bad weather that’s likely coming and the planets season ending, and some unwanted free time, I am going through my database for images to process.

Jupiter and Io – 2019-10-01

Luckily — no luck actually, damn hard work — my gear HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher is so automated that all I have to do is flip some switches and turn the tube towards the target. The rest can be done even from the bed.

Io, Jupiter, Europa 2019-09-22

It wasn’t a surprise that I caught Jupiter, for I was cooling the telescope for quite a while before sunset, but it was a nice surprise to see Europa’s shadow departing — reminding me of the good old times of this year’s  Jupiter season when the planet was visible for several hours (though still as low as it can get, above the city’s turbulent air). HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher Photo taken at 19:21 local time with the Sun just behind the hills to the west of the city.

Jupiter and Io

From the balcony observatory, the Jupiter season, which was shitty even at its best, is ending. It’s less the horizon’s problem, for Jupiter hides behind a building, but more the altitude’s. The usual gear HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher

Jupiter and Io – 2019-09-14

Jupiter and Io

From this year’s standard gear,  HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher I observed Jupiter and Io on the evening sky. The Jupiter season is mostly over, as is the Saturn season, but one may still capture some nice shots.

The early evening, still blue sky has its own charm, when it lets through the planets. The Jupiter season is kinda over, but it’s still possible to capture good frames. On the second one, the blue sky is subtracted and the gamma is adjusted to compensate for the lost brightness. 20:01 local time, HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher

The blue sky is what it is: my passion. That I start to observ early in the evening to catch something. Anything. So here it is: Jupiter on the still bright sky. HEQ5, N250/1200, TSO ADC, ASI 224MC (cooled), home observatory, mountpusher

Jól kalibrált monitoron mindegyik számnál elkülönülő árnyalat látszik. Ha mégsem látszanak, akkor a megjelenített képek színhiányosan rajzolódnak ki. A monitort valószínűleg kalibrálni kell.

You should see distinct shades for each number. If those shades are not clearly visible, the displayed pictures will lack accuracy. Your display most likely needs to be calibrated (brightness, gamma, contrast etc.).
