Half an hour of raw video (>100k frames, tens of gigabytes) went into this picture of Saturn. The low altitude craves for the huge number of frames to … well, have enough luck for the lucky imaging. At 178°42′ elongation, this is just one day away from the opposition. The rings are surprisingly bright. ASI 224MC, TSO ADC, N250/1200, HEQ5 guided by the soapbox on my balcony.

Setup: ASI 224MC, TSO ADC, N250/1200, HEQ5 and the noszogtató (see the soapbox project). The image below is a combination of about 30GiB raw data obtained from videos of about 20 minutes, above average seeing — and a few hours of postprocessing.

The setup is the usual, ASI 224MC, TSO ADC, N250/1200, HEQ5 with the home made motorized focuser and the home made arduino noszogtató mount guider. I would like to call this the soapbox project — it is mounted inside a soap box, though in Hungarian and Romanian we use soapbox to denote compact and dumb cameras too.
