kind of a webcomic by an amateur astronomer
I call Walks on a Nearby Planet a web comic since I don't know a better word for it. It started as an aha-moment while talking to someone so I didn't and still don't intend to make it about anything in particular, however recurring its themes may be. All writers know that there is no art without implicit or explicit love, hatred, voyages, creation and death[citation needed] so these are subjects likely to be found in this webcomic. Oh, and humour. And the stuff that my life consists of. Many strips are in English, but since my mother tongue is Hungarian, many of the strips are in Hungarian. I wrote this text in English to avoid the need of translation. C'est la vie.
It's inspired by (1) my everyday life[what?], by (1.1) its absurdity and (1.2) grotesque nature, by (1.3) Örkény&Caragiale Inc., by (2) the software development work I've been doing lately and all it involves from computer science through math and deep into geek and nerd[some say these two are not the same] culture, by (3) XKCD as an example of the latter, by (4) my amateur astronomer activities and (5..n) so on.
